I have a possible theory about the moongates in U9: (note, liberties can be taken as far as dialogue goes)

First of all, being the titan of ether probably is causing each of the avatar's moongates to appear altered (energy flowing, active, and purple). The ether is also in pretty extreme turmoil as is I would think due to the Guardian's actions.

I think this probably makes the most sense as LB created a moongate that was like from earlier games. Also we never see any other moongates generated except by the Avatar. (right?)

The issues at the muesuem I think can be easily explained as well--with the damage inflicted by the aftershocks and general mayhem of the catacylsm. The muesuem could easily have had a section of the building severely damaged. This allows for items to be lost/destroyed and for the timing would be perfect to steal the runes as the guarded are far too distracted with restoring order.

How did Empath Abbey move to the other side of Yew?

We know that Yew was for the most part destroyed and rebuilt in the trees. Also we know that the cataclysm did an untold amount of movement of islands, dungeons, and the landscape in general but this much is hard to believe.

Answer: the church caught fire during the teleport storms, so a new yet smaller empath abbey was built eslewhere only to be destroyed nearly 20 years later.

I'm thankful I only have to do about half a dozen backflips through razor wire set on fire when it comes to writing the main plot and tying up previous loose ends. U9:A would make my head explode to fully reconcile it.

I continue to have vast amounts of respect for the U9:A dialogue patch crew for that very reason.

Oh yeah, they had the hardest part to do. I just I have to take what they did and try and reconicle the remaining issues. Empath Abbey is probably the worst.

Theory for Skara Brae: The destruction of Skara was not actually a new event, but something that had happened years ago. Why would the Guardian wait this long to get rid of the one town that is unaffected? In fact, this town would have actually done something to save the rest of Britannia before 20 years had past. This provides a lot of explaination for a lot of things. The thing with the Guardian sequence can be easily dealt with as well just by having him reference this event as having happened some time before. ("See my power. What I have done to those who oppose me." or something to this effect.)

Kind thanks for the compliments. You can pitch the tomatoes even harder if we bungle things Smile

Speaking of which: we could use a few more writers. As it stands, several city and town areas still need to be populated with NPCs, not to mention dungeons and wilderness encounters.

You get perks like having access to the full U9R soundtrack, reading about the main plot and offering feedback, seeing the world develop, and of course shaping the development of a really great project with people who don't suck.

I'll stop trying to sound like I'm selling a washer now.

Sorry, not a big story writer. For something like editing U9's dialogue and the books in the game, no problem; but something of Redemption's scope will be a bit much (esp. seeing as how I barely have enough time as it is for the two projects I am working on now).

Yeah I am in the middle of a remodel with my house in anticipation of moving into one in which I am building, and trying to make time to Build Britannia with the Ultima 6 Project. I've made the offer before, but when that project is done and if you guys are still trucking on REdemption I will gladly help out if you all need it.

Depending if I must know about programming I might once again consider commiting myself to this (I haven´t done so before ´coz of university and stuff). But, since down here on the far end of the planet summer draws near, fate could favour my wishes of serving the team, for the modest sum of two shillings and one flagon of ale.

I know squat when it comes to programming. All I do is bang on my keyboard, upload stuff to the FTP, magic bunnies dance around my documents, and some time later the dialogues end up in the NPCs on the screen.

So when I say writer, just writing will do.

Ahhhhh that explains it. Those damn bunnies... they left my pc when I actually killed all the "help fauna" from windows and office because they demanded more attention and were becoming increasingly hostile. OR perhaps none of this ever happened and I was going through a particularly bad time of sleep. And someone out there asked about a writing for the last days of the colony, sounds like a tempting thing to do while all this pizza gets digested (tried to sleep it out but gastroesophageal reflux was an ugly sensation altogether)...
ps: currently listening to the Icewind Dale Soundtrack, so creative systems are going online...

Well, given that I never played UW1 or 2, you'd be in a prime spot! I'm not sure if any of the other writers have, but we've all got our hands full at the moment.

And the Icewind Dale soundtrack is fantastic. I've listened to it many times while going on long driving trips.

True. I haven't played either one apart from a minute at the beginning of each since I had installed the whole series and I checked out all of them for a minute of two each.

But I do plan and hope to be able to play them, especially UU2.

I use Smart FTP, because I am S-M-R-T. Imho. Fyi. Atm. Yeah.

And I can't specify the weed precisely, but it is noxious and probably requires a government permit to ship.
