I know Zini is saying theres no plans for the ships to be sinkable...
But just out of curiosity is it a possibility?
Sorry, its just I hated it how in Ultima 9 the bloody thing was indestructable. I'd like to know that you had to be careful with the ship, would make it feel more precious and worth the effort of getting if you know what I mean.

It was decided, that the ship won't sink, so you can't loose it. But you can damage your ship up to the point, when it won't move anymore.

cool sounds good,
got a question though, it may be giving to much away though to get an anwser
if it gets damaged in a battle in mid ocean and no longer can move is it permanantly stuck there? or is there a way to fix it? Or is that where lifeboats come into play?
Also is it possible to swim in the middle of the ocean in the game? or are the tides 2 strong etc?

If I remember right, we'll be doing shallow water = swimable, deep water = constant damage or a severe drain on fatigue, which would quickly lead to drowning damage. Swimming in the ocean for extended distances is damn hard even without chop and high temperature. With armor on I'd say almost impossible for making any significant distance.

And repairing the ship is possible. But you need some materials for it. If you damage your ship in the middle of the ocean and you forgot to stock up, you have a problem.

If I remember correctly, the lifeboats can be deployable in such a case or in order to get into areas a masted ship can't. Am I remember correctly, Zini?

Mostly. If you use a boat in deep ocean areas, you will get damage too, so it would be of limited use only in such a case.

How big is that problem? Do you force players to commit suicide then or will there be any other ways to get out?
