Ah, you may have ran into a bug I've heard about but never experienced. Try this: Look up. Is it floating in the air above you? I think sometimes the runes forget to fall at the end of the light show.

I think you need to use the fly cheat to get it. Hmm... or isn't there some wind spell? It has been a while since I played it... Gust! I think... That might work... If not, fly. Assuming it is up there of course.

Well, I'd say it'd start out on the cliff thingy from the end of Ultima 8. That's where we left the Avatar, so I guess that is where he'd start.

...

Then again, that's not necessarily where you start in Infinity Eternal so...

...

My guess is that you start at the beginning. :p *is guaranteed rightness*

Well, it's not formatted wonderfully, but this is the best I can give you at the moment.

The code is mostly all in there. I haven't gotten around to formatting it correctly since most of the population of Serpent Isle won't really be making appearances in U9IE so I've used my time elsewhere.

If you want one with all the code (so you can actually see what is happening in the dialogue, rather than just lists of texts out of order) then you can try this one:

Did you need dialogue from any other games?

I thought I'd jump in with my opinion of modding for Oblivion. To put it quite simply, at first it scared the #$%@ out of me. When you open the TESCS for the first time it looks the same as Morrowinds, but then you try to do stuff and everything has changed. For a while I gave in to Nosfentor and ran away in fear.

But when I started actually seriously modding it was just amazing. There are things I can do in Oblivion that I couldn't even dream of in Morrowind, and they are usually incredibly easy to do. Recently I've been scripting in the Britannian spell system and it's amazing how cool I can make everything. I was even able to make poison give people a green glow like in the earlier Ultimas, and Protection give the silvery glow, etc. All by just changing one setting.

The main thing I miss is global scripts. All scripts need to be attached to objects or quests or something. It's kinda a pain in the ass, especially when I just want a simple script to test something. But apart from that, I'm loving it.

Well, I played in the stress test of Lord of the Rings Online, and it seemed like a great single player RPG. Pity it's an MMORPG. Is it just me, or does everyone else hate playing through the exact same quests as everyone else in one of those?

I'm gonna have to agree with Bloodlines and Oblivion being basically the only RPGs of note lately. I wish Bloodlines was more replayable. Even as different clans you're basically playing the same game, and it's not long enough to make that not get boring after a while.

I figure we just need a steady stream of fan games/remakes to come out. That would make life good. I still haven't played Lazarus... I should probably do that. I think after Infinity Eternal I'll just start making smaller games that don't require huge teams and years to make. It's not hard to make a nice, decent, long RPG in a shorter amount of time.

I actually thought that samurai being added was more related to the lore than usual. They came from the Land of the Feudal Lords, one of the four Sosaria continents like Britannia and Serpent Isle. Who's to say they aren't samurai? Utomo in Ultima 6 had to come from somewhere, afterall. If they had introduced a world of people that worshipped serpents and Serpent Isle hadn't existed then we'd probably say that goes against the lore too. I figure they need to create some new lore themselves. They're creating new worlds afterall.

As for whether I'll play it... it is still just getting a graphics update (along with a few interface changes, and gargoyles). That hardly makes a big difference with me.

I expanded on that one day when I was bored: <_<

Pusmoran is the creator of the rarely used fourth person point of view. It was used in such games as Streets of LA: Hong Kong, in which you play an ordinary person in Hong Kong while all the action happens in LA, and the highly popular Sim Sim, in which you get to watch an AI player create and control his own simulated world.

With UW1 there was actually another utility that extracted the dialogue code into a C-like code that lets you see how the dialogue actually runs (sort of). Unfortunately it didn't put what the Avatar says into it, though that's fairly easy to do yourself (since it has the numbers from the string list and you can just copy the string over). I'm currently in the process of repairing my own UW and UW2 dialogues (into a better format than the string list) after I lost them when I got my computer fixed.

And I've never found that rat either. I know it's in Killorn. I figure it would be the one at the entrance to the basement. I think it's meant to talk to you when you hit it, but since I've always killed it in one hit... I should play the game again some day.

I'll help out, once my brain wakes up enough to get me in a writing mood. I'll probably check for errors in what is there first though. Like whoever wrote the Dupre one actually thought he was working for Brommer :p

Shadowlands.

I got it for my birthday or something, and attempted to play it, but I kept dying of hunger within 5 minutes. What makes this worse is you start next to a bunch of apple trees which you can take the apples from. Yet I still died of hunger. Plus the game was just horrible. I would say more except I never got more than 10 minutes into it, so don't know the rest of the bad stuff :p

Basically, any game in which hunger does that much, I hate. (including Ultima 3... well... I don't hate Ultima 3, just playing it)

I dunno... I think it'd be better to ignore the fact they weren't connected in U7 than to leave them unconnected.

I think it's a really good idea for some of the dungeons. Not all though. That's one thing I think Ascension did fairly well. Wrong was a prison, as it traditionally is. Deceit had lots of traps and puzzles and stuff, which I thought fit in well.

Basically, I think puzzles and stuff would work well for some dungeons, and not others. Depends on their background. Destard, for example, doesn't really seem like a puzzle dungeon to me. It's a big dragon cavey dungeon. Unless people have settled in it since U7, then it noone would have been there to make puzzles (and even if there are people there, I doubt they would go around creating puzzles while ignoring the dragons). Wrong's a prison, but it could also have some puzzles and stuff. As long as there is a reason the puzzle would be there, I think they are great.

Arbalest means crossbowman basically, so I pretty much decided it was just a title rather than his name. Fitzowen is definately his last name.

Yeah, Underworld II was the really annoying one because it happened when you were just playing the game properly. I found a way around it though. After fighting I'd pick up all the bones, armour, etc and go back to the gem in Britannia. Then I'd toss all the junk into the water. Seems to get rid of it.

Though eventually the blood and unpickupable stuff gets too much in the Pits anyway, so it doesn't work forever.

It's just in the save game. You can start again without any problems.

That problem always annoyed me. I'd use the cheat menu to create objects and turn the Castle of the White Dragon into my own castle. But after a while plants and stuff would start disappearing. Stupid thing :p

No, it says someone warned all the abyss's inhabitants and they got out safely. Probably the girl you rescue... can't remember.

And the island couldn't have sank because it's the Isle of the Avatar, which is.. well.. still there.

Not sure about the Justice one... Seems a little too self-related

Anyway, the truly humble thing to do would be to not have posted at all, rather than post to show your humility saying you're being humble :p

And the questions at the start of the Ultimas aren't exactly wonderful. I mean, anyone who follows most of the Honour questions has problems :p

Humility doesn't mean that you can't say good things about yourself. You can be humble and still tell the truth about yourself. In fact, a statement like that I'd say is bordering on being unhumble.
