I just stumbled across this website tonight while looking for info on Ultima remakes. I must say, the screen shots and video are impressive! You folks are doing an excelent job. I look forward to playing the completed game and having a better conclusion to the Ultima series.

Wow. Just watched the video again, and I love it.
The sky, the water, the butterflies and bird,
the corn isn't all oriented the same way.

It looks so good I can't wait (but then...I will have to) to
play this thing.

It's amazing what you guys are doing with this,
I really think so.

So best of luck,
virtues be with you.

I thought is was amazing also. Best of luck with this huge project. It will certainly be something to look forward to. Good thing I still kept Morrowind. Cool

Makes you wonder what the other U9 would look like if EA didn't get ahold of it.

*smiles sardonically*
They should have called Ascension...

Ascension: Twilight Zone

Why? 'cause it's not an Ultima, and it looks like a warped and twisted version of the place we know and love.

hehe

I knew that people who only see the past games (and lore) won't like changes but you have to accept that we have to take a step forward...

PS: And theres for sure enough material here which will keep people from running away, so dont worry Ope Wink

PostPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2022 8:51 am    Post subject: Excitement

Hi all,

I just want to say that I'm very excited at the very notion that the Ultima series is being continued. I first read from wikipedia that the replacement of Ultima IX: Ascension is being made and became very curious about it, which then led me to the Titans of Ether website. My excitement grew even more when I read the features that would be in the game and when I saw the newly-released video of New Magincia.

Since you guys (the developers) asked for suggestions to improve the game, I would probably throw several of my thoughts on the game... The graphics look really cool, and the music is nice and supportive to the game itself. From this, I'm sure that the sound and special effects would be awesome, too. One thing that I would like to see (or hope to see), though, is the way the view of the game is presented. The video showed that the view is completely on a "first-person" perspective. I would say that a view similar to that of Ultima IX: Ascension or World of WarCraft (where you can see the character, rotate, and even zoom in or out on him/her) is more suitable and better for an RPG while the view in the video is more suitable for a first-person shooting game.

Another (and last) suggestion that I can make right now is about the storyline and plots of the game. Speaking from my gaming experiences, I think that storyline should not be taken lightly at all. Great graphics, sounds, cinematics and special effects should not be substitutes for a great storyline. A few twists and surprises in the storyline and plots are what I think must be a few of the "intrinsic" features of a great RPG. This is what Ultima IX: Ascension fell short at and what disappointed me and many others in that game. But since the point of creating Redemption is to "replace" Ascension anyway, I'm sure that this issue won't be an issue at all. Smile So all in all, I'm REALLY looking forward to Redemption and REALLY appreciate Titans of Ether for making it. Best wishes to you all.

Regards,
Andrie
