From the outside looking in, the best answer I can see is "how long is a piece of string"... I guess it will be done when it is done!

Errm: The last Ultima was produced under commercial pressures so, as we know, Richard G and his team got nothing like what he wanted to produce. Corv and team are trying to put that right IN THEIR OWN FREE TIME!! It has and will take them ages therefore. Just so long as we continue to get snippets of their continuing progress here from time to time, I'm happy to wait! The important thing is that unlike so many other Ultima projects it continues to run.

Good point. Ultima IX was released when it was NOT done and some people (namely Richard) claimed it would have been done. Actually it hadn't been done at all, but still, we can be happy that the game has been released (thanks to the efforts of some very eager devs!). Otherwise we wouldn't have had anything (people might claim this is even better, but I don't think so because there are things you can really enjoy in U9).
Now, if this thread is a random guess thread... Let's say Redemption will be released in 3 years?
Looking forward to your ideas..
(btw, even though Lazarus is a great game and will remain one of the best projects until Redemption is released at least, please don't do the same mistakes, but fix as many bugs as possible before release and don't rush it for the christmas holiday or something... stability can do a lot to atmosphere of a game which is difficult to outweight by all the other aspects such as music, art, etc.)
This always reminds me of Gothic - would have been a great game I would really love if there hadn't been the "unfixed" bugs (still don't understand why they didn't fix it - would have been sooo great)...

U9: Ascension was a flawed Ultima, but in some few ways it was a decent or even good game. I'm mostly thinking about Moonglow at night and assorted pretty graphics. I've repeated myself on this a lot. I like theme parks, sue me.
Regarding how much longer this game may take:
While the game is obviously done when it is done, 3 years from right now is almost certainly too long. I'd hazard that even 2 years from now is unlikely. (Although Corv or anyone else is perfectly welcome to disagree and shackle me back to my laptop without any supper).
The development speed for Worldbuilding and especially dialogue writing has greatly increased in the last several months. Those are easily the biggest fields that need the most production time. We also got some dedicated 3D model members, without whom production would have been stalled.
After all the ups and downs, I've never felt better and more confident about our progress.
