 Ultima IX: Ascension patches/mods |

The shop that I traded in my copy of U9 (Dragon ed) with Ultima Collection gave it back to me today - they'd put in in a drawer and basically lost it for a year. Anyway, since they've given the whole thing back (I really only wanted the UC disc) I thought I should ask if there are any patches or mods out there that help with these Ascension problems:
- The game crashes constantly. Defragging the hard drive after every session seems to help, but every computer ever seems to hate this game.
- The game itself sucks, which is a shame because the parts of it I like are good.
I guess the first part is a patch issue, and the second part is a mod issue. I do in fact quite enjoy playing Ascension in many aspects, but for the damage it seems to do to computers.
I deserve money, I reckon.

I've just applied the official patch and will give it a go. What does the "unofficial" patch do?
