###**Job Postings**###

3D Modeler (1): Spyder is looking for a new 3D modeler. Rather than rattle off specifics, please PM him if you're interested. PMing me is exactly like PMing him but takes ? days longer. Seriously, friends don't let friends message the lead writer.

###**Update**###

Given the end-of-the-semester stuff some people have been doing, or grants (me), or work in general, November and part of December have been relatively quiet. Even so, we keep going!

Zini: worked on finishing the smithing skill. This is one of the most elaborate features that has been created and implemented in U9R. While there are (of course) unique sets of armor that can only be found, there is a variety of materials that can be used to forge armor and weaponry.

The Brown Dragon: finished up a remainder of dialogues for Jhelom. I may hav mentioned it before, but this exciting. Jhelom was picked up, somewhat developed, and then sort of mysteriously left by at least 3 writers from what I recall.

KaiserJohannes: adding external details to Yew and working on the interiors for the inn. It's cool to see this particular city get fleshed out. It's the source of some very dramatic sequences in the earlyish main plot.

Spyder: mostly dealt with IRL stuff, but has worked on a few things modeling related.

Direhaggis: I also mostly dealt with IRL. I had to do a clean install of my machine (after backing up everything in two separate locations). Spent many hours trying to come up with some other solution. My main SATA drive has been failing for months, so I'm sticking the new OS onto the alternate. That's been stable. Life is now also stable, work-wise and otherwise.

Lord Alamar: learning how to use 3dsmax 2011 for 3D modeling.

Hyena of Doom: continued working on the gigantic task that is Britain interiors. I've written about it before, but the capital city has more NPC's than some trilogies in the series. Roughly about twice as many as U7: Black Gate. Yeah we went nuts.

And being that the Christmas/Kwanza/Solstice (or Salsa)/Hannukah/Osiris season is upon us, this quote is relevant:

"May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself."

-Neil Gaiman (who is the nicest author I've ever met and just a great down-to-earth guy)

Thanks for that, DH may you and the team have a pleasant Christmas and a prosperous new year when this enormous project will edge yet nearer completion.
From his quotation I can see what you mean about Neil Gaiman.

We will all be awaiting more news in the New Year. - I dare say absolutely no more!

Fred

Try XYZZY - it might work!
