Just wondering if any of you forum lurkers would like to speculate where the Redemption team is planning on starting the Avatar out on his path. In the past we all know he has begun his quest at Iolo's Hut, LB's Throne room and near the stables in Trinsic....what are the guesses that you all have for the REAL Ultima IX startout location for the Avatar.
If this has already been discussed then my apologies...also due to the nature of the question, Redemption team members need not reply (as we don't necessarily need to be spoiled on this topic).
I'm going to throw mine out there and say somewhere in the Trinsic vicinity.

Hmmm, good one. Ascension started off at Stonegate, so this is a vague possibility. Iolo's hut or the throneroom seem traditional... Terfin could be interesting! Or Buc's Den, or Cove.

O.K. Corv - thanks for that. So the team have considered the matter and decided upon it. I have no doubt that it will be both original and interesting. I don't really think we need to know any more until the game is finally published.

Well, I'd say it'd start out on the cliff thingy from the end of Ultima 8. That's where we left the Avatar, so I guess that is where he'd start.
...
Then again, that's not necessarily where you start in Infinity Eternal so...
...

Ok, the Avatar appears at the site of the Guardian head, which i think would be either on Terfin, or the Isle of the Avatar (these island were known for lava streams, and are far away from prying eyes). But this surely is not where the player starts.
I speculate that maybe you start the game (as in controlling the Avatar) on a island. It would give the player enough time to get used to the game, without:
a)getting thrown too deep into the cold water.
b)getting too soon into trouble, since the Artakan control surely isn't as big as on the mainland.
c)reavealing too much too soon.
It would be perfect for a tutorial, but of course not in that stupid style like in Ascension. It's more like in Ultima VII, where you got used to the game in Trinsic, before the world opened to you.
So my guess is, it could be New Magincia.

Wow, that is very good guess. I like it, though an equally likely location could be Buc's Den, which I think is still free from Atarkan control (could be wrong on that, though).
