Just wanted to inform you that I revived my mikseri.net homepages where you can find various musical material I've produced in my home studio. Some of the stuff may find it's way to Redemption also, but most of it won't. Feel free to check out the offerings! I'll update the pages as often I can.

In the same breath I think it's proper to announce that the musical material I've created for Redemption crossed the line of 2 hours about two weeks ago, and I haven't yet run out of ideas, so no fear Smile

The mikseri page is partly in finnish, but I've written all the info in english, so hopefully you'll find your way around. On the main page of mine you can find the links to different musical projects in the left. They are called Celestial Aeon Project, Project Divinity, Roomful of Emptiness and Frozen Silence.

Actually, here are straight links to Celestial Aeon Project and Project Divinity -project pages.

Hope you'll enjoy the music!

50+ views and no reply.... as a music lover, I have to put at least 1 cent in!

Michikawa, I've downloaded everything on your site! Wonderful work; diverse, deep and moving. There are many pieces that I wish you could extend to about double or triple their length, I love listening to them so much!

Bravo!

Thank you, so nice to hear you enjoy the material! Smile But I think that with a project of this magnitude there is so much other things which are of much greater importance, and usually music has not too big a role for most of the players, so it's quite understandable it isn't the subject everyone is talking about. Just wanted to give a possibility to prepare oneself for the general feel and level of the material.

Music plays a much bigger role than most realize. I myself noticed that all the old games I still love have a great soundtrack. Often without the soundtrack I wouldn't be interested in them anymore, but the music gives it the atmosphere I loved so much. A few eamples: The Last Ninja (C64), Turrican 2 (Amiga), Katakis (C64), Command and Conquer 1 (PC), Icewind Dale, Lands of Lore 1 ...

and yes also Ultima is one of the games I love so much ALSO (not only Wink ) because of the music - especially in Ultima 6 and 7 .

Like I said in the dev post: Michikawas music is not only used as background music but as part of the game design - it plays an important role.

I don't know how it is for Michikawa to do music "on demand" like "make a tune which is dark, mystical for this and that situation with a little bit of stones in it..." and then hear me bitching about how something should be more this or more that Wink .. but that's how it often goes (and will go even mroe often in the future as the story grows) and he does an amazing job!

The tunes he makes for Redemption are more Ultima-like (for the most part) than the music in those two project (essence and divinity), somtimes also quite similar and a few tunes you hear in Redemption will be even from those two projects if they happen to fit for a scene.

I just wanted to post that I've visited your board and am hoarding your music on my machine at home and at work! I liked most of your earlier pieces, but some of your newer ones are incredible... I very much enjoy your new action pieces such as "Hold the Line"; powerful stuff! I also love the theme "I Will Come for You." That isn't to mention your ambient works nor your smooth jazz. Once again, exceptional!
