I was checking out this classic server and I thought I'd share it with you guys, looks pretty legit. The whole design is if UO made good decisions to improve the game rather than go down the gear-based trammel road.

Paladin system to counter rampant pk'ing, adding actual PvE and PvE equipmentto the game, PVP remaining skill based and not gear based, guild controls of towns and functions like taxes, guard protection, etc.
There's tons of features and it looks really neat, just check out the homepage.

It is a RP server in that RP will occur, along with a lot of other things.
The ideals of this server are pretty much: what if UO stayed true to itself and continued to develop with the UO model in mind, rather than solve all its problems by adopting the EQ model.
The original IPY back in 2003 was the largest free-shard of all time with ~1500 on average. I remember there were dozens of RP guilds: like 3 orc guilds, elves, goblins, undeads, humans, yew militia, brigands, savages, etc. Weddings and people burning down towns using kindling, one player recreated the quest line from Diablo. It was pretty ridiculous.
