That's another thought. Maybe by the time we get around to The New King Bethesda will have already announced the next Elder Scrolls Game. |
Fallout with the enhanced Oblivion engine might be out by then. The problem with it is that all the models and textures can't be used for an Ultima project. We already did a lot on our own, but then we woulüd have to do it ALL on our own

Fallout's engine and improved scripting functions would be helpful, but we'd need to do all the textures, most of the models, etc. -- very true.
I'd be surprised if the next fantasy-based Elder Scrolls or something else doesn't finish production in another year or two.

It'd be one hell of a cross-over mod. I think a sci-fi post-apocalyptic Ultima would work as a short project (game play time 10 hours or so).

The Enilno U2 project offers some very fertile ground for both of those aspects. Staying in the canon, space travel is possible in ancient Sosaria and the silver moongates likely didn't exist just on alternate Earth.
Considering Minax was from Sosaria, I've imagined a few Myth or Myth 2-like scenarios. She commanded hordes of the dead and summoned balrons like it was child's play.
It's too bad the other 3 lands of Sosaria technically broke off after U1. I'm guessing U2:Enilno will be focused on just the Lands of Lord British.

Yeah it would be nice to have sci-fi in U2 Enilno. I read in Game Banshee in The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion News that Bethesda is taking out the new Elder Scrolls in 2010. I can't wait for both games Ultima Redemption and The Elder Scrolls V
