Hi!

Well, where should I start...

We are working hard on Redemption as always. Time is still a big issue but its getting better and better again.

As I wrote in the news some days ago a project like this goes through a lot of changes in terms of members. People come, people go. Its ok especially for Redemption because we have this often mentioned core team which is so dedicated and so connected to this project that they will never leave. Don't get me wrong also all the people who only worked on Redemption for a short time or only help from time to time do (did) a great job - the big difference is only the time one invests in the project. I am rambling, sorry.

Anyway, I am about to reorganize the team and the project. New members are needed and they need to be integrated in the team. This is a time of change and so in the next few weeks we won't be able to devolp as much as we did before, but only to be much faster again after it.

I am going through the applications at the moment and I am in contact with quite some people who might be future Titans. Thanks to all of you who applied!! (it was a proof for me that far more people are following this project than the ones who actually post). So thanks again. In case you didn't get an answer yet don't think we are not interested. I just try to be REALLY carefull with recruiting new members to get the best possible team together.

The first new member is Sage! Sage will be writing dialogues and books. He is the former leader of the Ultima 2 remake Enilno. Unfortunately the other members of this team decided to go for another project and so Enilno will be a future project of the Titans. I know that these are bittersweet news, but its better this way than seeing Enilno die. Sage will be a very valuable new Titan.

So I guess thats it for today. I will keep you updated...

Btw: IF Oblivion is really comming this winter Redemption will defenitely be released after it, but we are not planning to change engines. Too much work has been but into what was done so far. And I think even compared to Oblivion our game still looks really good.

Then let's hope that Oblivion gets pushed back! I'd rather step into Britannia sooner and plant a swamp boot firmly in the Guardian’s backside.

I think there'd be a revolt. We already switched engines once, after all (i.e. from Dungeon Siege to Morrowind).

Hopefully we can get on to The New King while the Oblivion modding community is still overflowing with modders and players.

Depending on the success of Redemption would you consider making a version of it for Oblivion? I'm thinking it would be a lot of work but it could be released as Redemption Bonus Edititon as I'm sure that it would have more potential then the Morrowind enegine. And anyway your mighty mod design powers would be taken to new heights if let loose on the Oblivion engine Razz.

I think The New King is going to use that engine. Redoing Redemption over in another engine would be terrible, they would have to start it over from scratch.

Except for the dialogue and music..but the worldbuilding alone would probably be enough of a pain to make it not so worthwhile.

Hi...

Wow this is cool.. Ive been a long time Ultima fan. I just happened across this site completly by accident. Absolutly great news for me to hear this.
I was so dissapointed with the way they ended U9.

So how soon will this be done. And will it be downloadable from the main page?

Just came back from America (NC) - thats why I wasn't on the baord the last week.. anyway..

@LordHogFred: No we won't make an Oblivion engine version of Redemption. It would only look a bit better because of the new shaders but else it wouldn't bring any advantages. I think its much better to make a NEW game (remake) with the new engine after Redemption is finished. You will have more to play and we don't have to do the same thing twice Smile

@shawnintennessee:

Welcome!

It will be done some time in 2006 (it would be crazy to give an exact date already). You will be able to download it here for free yes.

Btw: I was in Tennesee too last week Wink
