Well, not to give away too much, the Guardian was floating around the void one day and discovered a world called cybertron. Long story short the Guardian is now Megatron.

I haven't talked to Corv about it in length yet, but what we had planned for redemption was sort of a blend of the U7 and UA Guardians. No ears, of course, and no monstrously huge chin. I'm not sure what we'll do for apparel, but then again, we're not planning on the Guardian entering Britannia anyway. *shrug*

The Guardian needs no corporeal existance within Britannia to cause any of the harm he implied in Ultima 8. The Fellowship, alone, proves he is capable of causing damage without even setting foot on the planet he targets.

yes but in the end of Ultima 8, the Avatar and the Guardian are standing face to face! It always made me wonder how they would start an Ultima 9.

Though I have to admit, the thought of the Avatar starting off Ultima 9 in a choreographed, John Woo-style fight scene against Big Red - complete with a thumping tecno-electronic score - makes me drool...that would've been awesome!

I want the triangular teeth from the U7 intro to be in.

Oh, I welcome the decision that the Guardian won't enter Britannia as it would have lead to many problems with the Wisps' description of the Red One. If I remeber correctly they stated that the Guardian was powerful in his own world but would be invincible in Britannia. As far as canon goes the Wisps never lied. Now, one could argue that the Avatar is now the Titan of Ether and has at least some major powers to boot and could eventually rival the Guardian but he would be totally overpowered against generic enemies.

I agree about the Wisps...but I see them as a conduit of information, and thus, are succeptible to incomplete info...so as far as the Wisps go, I believe yes, they do not lie.

As for the manner in which we're implementing the AVatar's ToE powers, I'm not saying, and neither is anyone else on the team...
