It is gettin' kinda sorta ok definetely quiet around here, yes. I've nothing grand to report.

On a tavernly related noted, I'll be sad if Troika gets downsized or partly snuffs it, as the rumor mill has recently been grinding on about. Never did play Arcanum, but I loved VtM:B.

Well what happens on the board now is quite the opposite to what is happening with the project. There was never before so much going on than the last few weeks Smile I'll write a short dev diary soon....

I've got a short one.

Me: Revising the main plot, main plot tree; more backstory on hold until actual game stuff gets scripted, although you all should see my desk scattered with the index cards from random plot threads, and how they should fit together. Smile

Wow...that was strangely effective!

Hey, good to hear from each of you concerning each of your current status! It's refreshing when the team presents a unified response like this!

An index card o' dev diaryness, hmm:

*I worked with Corv to make an effective quest flow-chart system. I'm not sure if I'm at liberty to mention the specifics, but I will say that it's necessary for all of the things we're planning.

*Nearly done with New Magincia dialogues. This'll push NM and Skara Brae into first stage completion. Eventually will add NPC to NPC interactions a la U7:BG, typically seen in Skara Brae in the tavern and a few other places.

*Britain will be the next one to move on. It's about 20% complete. That isn't laziness so much as the sheer number of NPC's. I already have some initial research done for specific parts of the city. Will need to do more for authenticity sake.

So as far as dialogues are concerned, I believe we are making steady progress.

You opened the Pandoras Box here WtF Smile Yes we are making steady process in every aspect. And thats how it should be. The motor is working. I am really happy that I finally got the team to this point after all the uncertainties after the team-merging....

But more about that in the next diary...

edit: diary posted with lots of info (2022-01-31)

I occasionally have that effect, I'm told.

The gamble, thus far, seems to be paying off, and your team has regained much momentum in the wake of one of the most epic project disasters the community has seen. So congrats to all the team!

I haven't been very active for a few reasons. Most notably, would be the immense power of life stress.

Also, Ultima seems to be losing its affect on me. Not a bad thing, the freakin' game had me hooked for a good eight years. No other game kept me coming back so often. Smile

Ultima has always been one of those in-the-back-of-your-mind things for me. I haven't played U7:BG in over a decade, but the experience and some aspects of it are still fresh in my mind. I can still remember the layout and detail of Skara Brae after all these years.

Still wish I could get my hands on that collector's pack that was floating around some years ago..

Which one of the collectors packs are you talking about exactly?

It was a bundle of all of the Ultimas that was collectively released...I believe the last one, perhaps commemorating an anniversary or something. I just remember that it included everything in CD-Rom format.

Ah now I know what you mean, the "Ultima Collection" U1-8. Well you can still get it on ebay!
