I see that your project will definately look nothing like Morrowind. Those houses are amazing.

I salute the efforts of you and your team Corv S!

I consider myself a fan of the Ultima series. The first one I ever played was Ultima 8, and about a 1 year ago I obtained Ultima 7 and it's expansions. I am unlucky that I was too young to have played through all the Ultima series, or even go back as far as Ultima 4, but I do feel very fortunate to have been able to experience the last two Ultimas. Before EA came on the scene (I have actually not played UA9, just the demo)

Ultima 8 is still my favourite game of all time even thought Ultima 7 has a more complex world, I guess that is because it was the first RPG I ever played and it left a lasting impression.

I wish only the best for your Morrowind mod.

P.S… I would like to help out if I can, but being that I am at Uni, I have other commitments, and I have not played a majority of the Ultima series, I don’t know how much I would be able to help out.

I'm 2nd year Bachelor of Computing (I mostly doing programming). I would like to know some more about making mods in Morrowind, could you point me to some good web resources?

Welcome to the Board Winter-Storm! Smile

Yes what you said about the lasting impression of the first Ultima you play is true (I wouldnt say the same for the first RPG in general). They are all outstanding games and I can understand everyone that names one game out of all of them as his/her favourite. Although to be honest I have not the best thoughts about Ultima 9. Its a great game - no question, but I dont think its a great Ultima because of many reasons,...

I loved the story of Ultima 8 - its definitely one of the best (and interesting) of the series. Also the dark mood of the world was great. But as a fan of U6 and 7 I missed the freedom of going where I want and the world was so much smaller with less posibilities. Its was more linear. But again it was a really immersive game and I loved it! Serpent Isle (Ultima 7 part 2) is also a bit linear. This is maybe an easier way to tell a story.

When planning this game I had basically the mood of Ultima 7 Black Gate and Ultima 8 in mind. I love the paradise-like flair that Britannia has in Black Gate. But in this "paradise" should be hell behind the scenes (UCool.

Its great that you want to help! Of course we have to find out where your strengths are. Go to this site - there you find links to the most important tutorials for Morrowind moding:

http://www.morrowind-mod.com/Modders%20Resources%20Tutorials.htm

Make yourself familiar with the Morrowind CS. Its best to try an make a small mod. Just set yourself a goal (doesnt have to be huge) and try to accomplish it - I think thats the best way. You as programmer will be most interested in scripting (like me) - so make sure that you download "Scripting for Dummies 8" - its also on the page above and for sure the best scripting tutorial ever for Morrowind - the scripting bible Wink

Or do you have other talents that are not Utliam or Morrowind related like 3D max, texturing, 2d art?

If you find out that mod making is not what you want then you can still help by simply making suggestions what should be in our game (features)...
