Interesting. The second continent, apart from Britannia, in your screenshot of the world map appears to be the Lands of Lord British, from Ultima 1.

Question then: didn't the Lands of Lord British become Britannia?

It would make for a very interesting plot twist if this was not the case. Or are you perhaps going to somehow forbid direct (ship-based, moongate, and other forms) travel between the two continents and tell a time-travel story?

First: Its great to see a real Ultima Fan here Smile

Well, your question is justified of course but this is a main part of the story that I dont really want to reveil because it would tell too much. Just one small hint: there is no time traveling - but at the same time it doesnt just simply ignore the history of Britannia.

I will tell a bit more about the story itself outside of the hidden Team Forum soon (but it wont contain an answer to this question).

Thanks for putting my project on your site!
I spread news of this project on every possible Morrowind board, but I also would love to let Ultima Fan Boards know. Your great page will help Smile It was about time that a new page takes the place of "Reconstruction". Great site!

Heh...it's great to see another Ultima-inspired mod!

Ahhh, I see. And don't. Wink

I do love a good plot twist, to be sure. I'm sure this will make for a great story, whatever the eventual plot actually is.

Oooh...hidden forum. Wink I am tempted to search.

I look forward to reading the backstory. For as little as there is right now to say about what this mod is about, I've found that most of the Ultima "spin-offs" that have come (and in some cases gone, sadly) are posessed of truly rich storylines.

No problem. Very Happy

Yes, it certainly was time that either the Reconstruction came back alive or someone stepped into the breach after it. Dino the Dark Dragon and I opted for the latter option.

We'll watch for further updates with great anticipation!

The problem with unusual Plots in Remakes / spin-offs is always that some (!) hardcore Fans dont like if anything is changed. Although Origin itself changed everything all the time from small things that Nightshade first only grew in deep dark forests when not even the moon was shining, then suddenly only in swamps at fullmoon and then everywhere.... to all the sudden appearances of new Dungeons without explanataion. Smile

But dont worry we dont just throw that land in - we have a quite interesting story I dare to say Smile

Btw: Your project sounds really interesting too!

Yes, well, the really hardcore fans will still only play Ultima on an Apple II or emulator, "as [insert deity or celebrity figure here] intended".

To which I usually just say "whatever", unless I'm in the mood to say "bushwah!".

You are very right...Origin changed enough aspects of Ultima between each game installment that it borders on hypocritical to be a fan of more than one Ultima title and yet knee-jerk critical of the remakes/spinoffs. That said, the remakes/spinoffs shouldn't treat Ultima inconsistencies as a sort of carte blanche to do whatever they want.

I'm sure you will, and I look forward to one day playing this mod!

It's a work in progress. Wink

It began as a Serpent Isle remake, and I wanted to make it so that you could open the second "Wall of Lights" and go through it to find the lands that the Ophidians had fled to. Of course, it quickly became apparent that my supposed "add-on" to Serpent Isle was going to be at least as massive as the remake would be as a stand-alone, so with a little prodding from Sergorn Dragon I decided to abandon Imbalance (the SI remake) and work on Lost Sosaria.

Anyhow, great-looking project, this New King! I can't wait to see the videos, if you release them, and I definitely can't wait to one day play.
