Its finally done!!
After I decided to stop modding in November last year I started again in August this year because of my huge new poject (TC) Ultima- The New King. But I also continued to work on this mod. So many things were still missing and the combination system itself needed to be polished. But now its all done! So here it is Smile

The Ultimate Ranger Mod 2 lets you create arrows, bolts, poisons, quivers, bows, tents and lets you poison your arrows and bolts with the selfmade poison. But the special thing about it is that it all happens with a new item combination system. You only have the mainmenu as messageboxes and then you can combine the items you have to combine to make those things by yourself! Look at this Screenshot to see an example (here you just make a quiver with sinews, logs and tanned hide)

You not only make the things mentioned above - you can also make the parts of the arrows / bolts yourself whih gives you alot of freedom! Example: Lets say you have logs and ebony ingots and feathers (from new chickens) So now you can make shafts out of the logs, arrowheads out of the ebony ingots and fletch out of the feathers. What you have no ebony and no feathers? just make the heads also out of the logs and kill some racers to make fletch out of their plumes! (you can make heads out of wood, ebony, glass, dwemer iron, iron and steel).

You also have a new Ranger Skill now! So if you make bows (like short bow, steel longbow, ebony bow..) you can either make a normal version of it OR if your skill is high enough you make a new special Ranger version out of the ordinary bows which are much stronger and look different (Bow meshes from Zyndaar)

You can make 3 different poisons with the poison mortar (which is a new herbalism system) and poison ALL arrows in game (old ones and new ones introduced in this mod) and make them more deadly! You can also make a tan liquid with the poison mortar to tan different hides (only tanned hides can be used to make quivers and tents)

Here are some screenshots of the features:
- New Fletcher House south of Caldera - ther you find instructions and you can buy all you need for your new skills
- Menu for Ammunition
- Menu for new features of verion 2
- New items - Ranger infornt of the new Ranger Kit and Poison Mortar
- King Bow one of the new Bows that can only be made with the Ranger Kit
- Ranger Ebony Bow - the Advanced Version of the ebony bow. You can make it when your new Ranger skill is high enough
- Hell Bow with poisoned Arrows use your new Bows and poisoned arrows to kill enemies with ease
- Ranger Tent build it wherever you want with th new system

Please read the readme for detailed instructions of how to use the Mod (and the system).


DOWNLOAD
Go to the Corvs Mods site and click on DOWNLOAD on the left side. You will get some dl links. For now its only available directly from my site. But it will soon be also available at Unforgotten Realms, Euro-RPG and The Lys.

Here is what happended when I tried to use the Ultimate Fletching Kit:

1. My inventory closed
2. A dialog box appeared where I could choose what to make
3. I go through the dialog to choose something to make and click it
4. The dialog box closes and I get a message to open the box and put in the material to use.

(everything seems fine so far)
but...

I cannot move my view. It is locked straight forward. I can jump, move my character with the keys, open inventory etc. But my view is locked. I cant see the kit and I cant unlock my view. If I move too far away from where I am standing, it says three times that I have finished using the kit. Fair enough, but when that message is over, nearly EVERYTHING freezes. The two only things I can do now is push escape or move my view around (which I couldnt do earlier). I cant click anything, I cant move, I cant open my inventory, I cant attack etc. Now I see where the kit is. It lies in front of my feet. How can I open something which is in front of my feet when my view is locked in a straightforward position? And if I choose to move away, mostly everything is locked and I have to load the game?!

In one instance, I was able to see the chest, when I chose to make something. It appeared right in front of my face instaed of on the ground. Then it didnt matter if I couldnt move my view. I was still able to open it. I had chosen to make some tips and put in some logs. I closed it and had received the newly made tips in my inventory. Then I closed everything and moved around. This time everything seemed fine and I didnt freeze.

I dont know if you have ever encountered this. Is there something wrong with your mod? Could it be that I have installed it "wrong"? Could it be that I have the wrong version of morrowind, I have both tribunal and bloodmoon. Could it be that it crashes because I use other incompatible mods?

Most importantly, can it be fixed? I thought this mod looked very cool and would like to use it. But to me it is now pretty much unusable.

ps: I also use the Morrowind Optimizer - cant do without it.

Well, the mod has been tested extensively, so there isnt anything wrong with it. When you get the message that you should open the kit you should... Open the kit! Then you do what you want to do (combine things). If you accidently chose to make something and the box appears that you should opent the kit, then open it anyway, when you close it again all is fine and you can move how you should.

But please tell me what you choose from the main menu when ahve this problem, becuase when you dont open the kit and walk away everything should be reactivated too, which it obviously doesnt for you. So I need to know what you coose AND if you have the problem also when you open the kit.

Yes, I realize that, but because I cannot move my view/crosshair/head around, I cannot open the kit, because the kit is on the ground. I have to look at it and press e, but I cant look down.

In only one instance does it work just fine. That is when I choose Ammunition-->Tips. Then the kit appears right in front of my view/crosshair instead of on the ground, and I dont need to move my mouse for the crosshair to point at it. Then I can open it and everything is fine.

In every other option I choose, let's say ammunition-->arrows, the kit appears at my feet. I cannot move my crosshair down to look at it, and therefore I cannot select/open it. Because I cant do anything, I want to go away/cancel the task. It says I'm finished and everything but my view freezes. Then I need to load game and start over.

I chose:
Ammunition-->Arrows
But it happens with every other choice too, for instance
General-->Create Bow

Only one option worked fine:
Ammunition-->Tips

No,
I don't have the problem when I open the kit.

Ahhh now I see, so tell me do you use a NEW race? My mod is set for original MW races. New races are not supported.

Well I downloaded your mod and put everything where it should be. When I get into the Game It says it can't find an animation group for the chickens. and it has a number like 4000 or something like that. Do you by any chance know what to do.

I had only the german morrowind version, so i ask me could it be that the ranger Mod not works ? 2. nd question is do you release an translated version for some german Ultima fans? I'm not so great in english and story and gameplay is fluentlier when i can understand complete Very Happy

Sorry but because all the trees in Morrowind are changed (for my treechoping system) it wont work with the german version (different region names). I also dont plan to translate it because I have enough to do with Redemption Wink

ExterminasII from the german Morrwind board said once that he wants to translate it but because I havent heard of him anymore I guess it was too much work for him Wink

Simply see it as a training for Redemption which will also be released in English (first) Smile

Hey I played all old Ultimas in english, and I seriously think I wouldnt have been as good in English in school without that experience Wink
