OK, folks...as I have been hard at work on constructing backstory for our game, writing stories that will help set up the game, I wanted to drop these questions to you all.

1) What part of Ultima history facinates or interests you the most?

2) Since there are a lot of holes to fill between the end of Serpent Isle and the start of Redemption, what would you like to see addressed in stories?

3) Are there any things that have yet to be resolved in an Ultima that you certainly want to see in the game or a story?

Just a few ideas, please. Simple premises and plot devices. No two-page treatises or fully fleshed out ideas.

This is basically so I will know how spot on I am in developing the backstory...I want to tie up all the loose ends I can, but more importantly, I want to see what you all are wanting.

Now this is not gameplay or technical issues, just backstory stuff. Not Game plot ideas, stuff that was left out or needs to be resolved. No guarantees that I will get to all the ideas, but I would just like to see where everybody stands.

Thanks for the help, everybody, and have a great fall break!

I agree - very important aspects of the Ultima storyline. That was my reason for Lost Sosaria, and I understand it's also the reason Avatus so adamantly pursued mention of Atarka when he layed down what later became Redemption.

Another gooder, and one which you are addressing

Thepal wrote:

More good questions, and these are being addressed by your own module, mine, and Redemption.

I trust that the Fellowship will appear in IE, as it certainly will in Lost Sosaria. Don't know about Redemption...Opera?

But of course. Actually, that reminds me of a PM I need to send you regarding people like Seggallion, who I'm using in my mod. But I'll take care of that a little later.

She's a native Britannian, though, so it's likely she'd have died by the time the Avatar returned. But send me a PM and I'll discuss her role in Lost Sosaria with you.

Indeed.

If there's one thing I might add to Thepal's list, it's that I think that a little more exploration of the various Kilrathi tie-ins that have appeared in the Ultimas might not be a bad thing.

Very Happy WtFD

lol I was going to mention that. But I seem to remember seeing on a remake forum (not sure if it was this one, but I think it was) that they probably wouldn't be putting Kilrathi references in. But it is definately a cool thing to have. So far we have the ship in Ultima 7 and the Trilkhai in Underworld 2 (and perhaps the spaceships in Ultima 1, though that is being ignored by most remakes). I guess that would bring the different times in different worlds thing back into it.

The Trilkhai are descendants of the Kilrathi and therefore must come from a time long after the Wing Commander games. And the Wing Commander games are set in Earth's future, but Earth is in the present day in all the Ultimas. And the Kilrathi must still be fighting the Confederation in the Britannia time since they crashed in Ultima 7 (unless they weren't fighting the Terrans yet, which is possible), which would make Britannian time different from (ahead of) Earth time.

I would like to hear a bit more about Lord British's background before he came to Sosaria.

What state are the Gargoyles in now?

What did Britannia make of the Chaos storms? And how did they try to combat them?

Also, I know it's a little obscure, but there was a highly intelligent Cyclops that I think was a subplot that ended up being unfulfilled in U7. What ever happened to that guy?

Oi... I forgot about the Cyclops. Certainly a loose end I'm interested in seeing. Very Happy
