Just a few quick q's.
If you can't write main characters in, could entrants write minor characters in?
Do all ex-party members (e.g. Blaine the gypsy from U6) count as main characters?
Can we refer to main characters (i.e. in NPC conversation or in book/scroll text)?
Are there any restrictions on including items from previous Ultimas?
Cool idea to have a quest-writing comp.

Yes you can write minor characters in. The chance that you write a story around a character that has a (different) major role in Redemption is quite low. (I hope this was what you wanted to know).

Yes they do. We want to prevent that people write stories around NPCs that maybe have a completely different role in our game. The solution would be to reveal the Redemption story, but this will not happen of course  You can risk it of course, if its necessary (and possible) we can alter your story.

Yes you can.

No restrictions there. In case it interferes with the purpose we have for the item we'll try to change this part of the story with the writer.

Okay, how about this. There's this guy, Ooli, who is like evil Iolo, who kidnaps some chick, Onnweg maybe, and makes you kill all the rats in his cellar, or he'll kill her, and you go and kill the rats but they turn out to really be chaos lords of some kind, and robots. Like in Might and Magic. But different. Definitely should be rat-killing involved. I hate rats.
