The 2.02 patch of Necessities of Morrowind is finally out. With this patch we addressed every bug/conflict found in the last 2 months and implemented some of the suggestions made by our users. Smile

From the readme:

Changes in 2.02
- Fixed a bug in some scripts that could lower the PC magicka resistance indefinitely. If this happened to you, in the readme there are instructions on how to bring the original value back.
- Fixed a bug in a cooking script that gave the player stewed bittergreen instead of stewed hackle-lo.
- Fixed a bug in the script attached to a (well hidden) recipe book. Now you can learn the recipes in it.
- Drinking scripts slightly adjusted to make them less visible from in-game, as was made for eating scripts in the 2.01 version.
- Sleep levels slightly adjusted to make the player get lower penalties after only one day without sleeping (-5 instead of -10).
- Fixed a problem with vampirism. Now hunger, thirst and sleep penalties will be actually removed if you become a vampire. Also, some more little tweak was done here.
- Improved the hunger/thirst/sleep system to be more werewolf friendly. Now, when in werewolf form, your hunger/thirst/sleep won't increase and you'll not eat/drink (no more werewolves eating apples). When you return normal, all the penalties accumulated while in wolf form will come out. So beware! An example: if you stay in wolf form for 10 days and then you turn back to human without water in inventory, you'll die of thirst.
- Fixed a conflict with Illuminated Order preventing you from completing the Illuminated Order main quest. The water script from the pool of forgetfulness was removed, so you can no more get water from it. But it's only one pool in the whole game so it won't be a problem. Wink
- The skill Mercantile was raised for all merchants added by Necessities. The same was done (in a minor way) for Speechcraft.
- Fixed an NPC having the wrong skills for his class.
- Minor changes to improve various scripts.
- Updated the "Known conflicts" sections in the readme.

The mod was cleaned also with TESTool, so many useless references have been removed.

You can apply the patch to your current savegame. It shouldn't give problems, but it's always good to make a backup copy of your savegame.

Just letting everyone know that i have been using NOM2.02 with no problems and am having alot of fun.It is kind of confusing though with all these Npc addon Mods am using to figure what food is yours.Right now am using the latest version of WILDERNESS 2.0, MORROWIND COMES ALIVE and Unsexed Partners which all come with alot of their own food ingredients.They dont conflict thanks to your excellent work but it would be cool to see something in the name of NOM's food items so i would be sure to have plenty of food to eat since your food is the only one that is a matter of life and death.For example instead of calling it just Chicken Leg you could call it Chicken Leg(NM) just so everyone can tell from the other Mods foods.Thanks this is really excellent work and am enjoying it immensely on my new 2.4ghz with 512 megs of ram etc thanks to my Brother inlaw painstakingly building it for me.

So far i have been playing NOM2.02 and everything is working great.One thing i did notice though was that at times my character will be hungry and suffer the first penalty effect and i go buy some NOM food at the Eight Plates in Balmora but my character does not eat them right away even after sleeping all night.Once i walked out of the Eight Plates though my Character did eat some of the food i bought there.This only happens with food.The drinking is working perfectly.Maybe the wait is due to eating more expensive foods later or maybe i had to go into a new loaded zone so by walking out of the Tavern the game recognized the newly purchased food.

We're not going to add distinctive signs to NOM foods because that would look a bit unnatural. However, you can be sure of having enough food: just buy it from the inns and the several food shops added by Necessities (there are more than 30 in the whole world). Smile

The problems you noticed is really strange. It happens only at the Height Plates? Other inns are working fine?

I didnt mean adding a NOM name to the icon only to the ingredient message box description that pops up whenever i pass my mouse over the icon.No problem though your foods stand out in the crowd of wannabes with its quality and fine cuisine taste Laughing .


The problem with the slight so far harmless delay in eating food i have not tested out in other Taverns yet since i had just started a new game and was checking some other new Mods in the Balmora area to make sure they worked right and i went to the Eight Plates since i got the message my character was about to get hungry.I will try out some other Taverns under the same hunger situations and see what happens aswell as see if this happens in the wilderness.Keep you posted.Thanks!

Ok so just finished another session and i ran into a similar problem in the Bandit cave just outside of Seyda Neen.NOM told me my character will soon be hungry etc then like a minute or so later it gave me the normal slight penalty for being hungry then like half a minute later my character ate the food.

Its really no big deal when it comes down to it.Everything is working as it should just with a slight delay.The drinking scripts are working flawlessly and the sleeping scripts are perfect.So its just the food but it still works and i can live with it.Might just be a another Mod doing something.Oh wait a minute i also remember vaguely that i think it was the MORROWIND COMES ALIVE Mod that also had a slight delay but it was with the NPCs talking to the player.The latest patched version of MCA should have fixed this.Maybe thats the culprit?I read this in the Official Forums in the Mods section about a week ago if you want to hunt down the post.

Well thats all at the moment.Am excited about the Balance Pack you are going to be releasing looking forward to that and i plan on using the Mods you suggested like WAKIM'S GAME IMPROVEMENTS modular version minus the items.esp with it and NOM.Thanks. Cool

Good evening Taddeus Twisted Evil.I just started a new game after trying out PirateLords Trade Fix Mod and hearing it had a error.So i uninstalled it and added some other Mods one of which gave me a conflict with NOM which is ANNASTASIA v3.3 the version made to be compatible with the many foods of NOM2.2.What would happen is at the start of new game:

1.It would come up with the NOM config screen just after finishing character creation but while am still in the Census building with the Guard that takes my release papers and gives me my duties.In the past the Config screen only came out once i was outside and after the message that says am now on my own etc.

2.The thirst script was not working right.It would tell me am hungry.I would get the light penalty.Then when i got some bottles to fill with water and drink nothing would happen.To make sure this was not just a Mod in Seyda Neen causing problems i went to Balmora and tried out the well there and got the same error.So i looked at the Plugin order and saw the ANNASTASIA v3.3 was lower then NOM so i unchecked.Started a new game and now everything is working perfectly again.

Just wanted to point this out since this version of ANNASTASIA was made to work alongside NOM.Thanks and here is my latest list of Mods i have added to take advantage of starting a new game:

Yes, that's all right. In order to work properly, NOM must be loaded after the mods builded using the Compatibility Pack. Smile

With your new game, you've always that delay problem with the eating scripts?

On the slight delay with eating scripts.I have'nt noticed any delay as of yet with my new game and everything seems to be working perfectly at the moment.I always start a new game when adding a new Mod just to be safe and to make sure i get all the benefits from the new Mod.

Boy just when i think there is nothing more to look forward to up pops your WIP to be released updates of your excellent game balance Mods and Pirate Lords corrected version of The Trade FIX Mod.Makes me wonder how things will be when OBLIVION comes out.People are still talking non-stop at the Forums about DAGGERFALL which came out in 1996 Razz .

Very Happy Hello Taddeus,Nymeria and everybody.Its been like five days since i last posted and just reporting that it seems the food delay problem has gone away.I dont know how but everything seems to be working buetifully.Also i did as you suggested with the ANNASTASIA Mod by putting NOM last in the load order and now it works with no problems with the NOM version.

Am really starting to get into and enjoy all the little details and intricate design of this wonderful Mod work.Yesterday my character was hungry and in the wild with no packed food! Shocked So it was a real treat to scavange off the land and eat marshmerrow and other edible goodies from the wilderness.And this goes splendid with Balor's HERBALISM Mod.I was hungry and their was an extra level of excitement when i failed to pick the herbs from a tree due to a low Herbalism skill which kept my character hungry for a bit longer as i kept looking around for food.Who would have thought looking for food could have the random thrill of rolling the dice.I love it when two Mods compliment each other like this and am really glad Balor just upgraded with a improved less intensive script that now also covers the Blood Moon Expansion.

Glad i was of service Nymeria.Another thing about the Herbalism Mod by Balor is that plants are picked.So when you click on them they actually disappear from view and regrow a month later!


So i finally made it to Mournhold and decided to check out the sewers. When finally my female Unas Elves character (by SATAN) was getting sleepy i put down the bedroll to rest and then remembered that hideous Morrowind bug that prevents one from sleeping at certain underground levels due to misreading water depth.But to my delight i was able to sleep well in the sewers of Mournhold with no problems at all. Excellent work Taddeus and Nymeria on that one.
