May Monthly Faves
Author: Chrissy
So I thought it might be fun to let you in on what my favorite products of the month are. Yes? No? Maybe? Anyway, on with the list.
*Bvlgari Omnia Green Jade Eau de Toilette-Clean, fresh and just right for summer. Smells like a soap but with more oomph!
*MAC Naked Lunch eyeshadow-I have been in a color rut lately and I realized that I was getting to dark for Shore Leave eyeshadow to look decent on the lid. So, I pulled out Naked Lunch and I fell in love with it all over again. Great amount of shimmer but not in your face discoball. Smooth application too. I can just slap this color on and go.
*MAC Viva Glam 6 Special Edition Lipstick-I really and truly love this color. I thought that it would be too pink for me but it’s the right amount of mauve for my complexion. I like how glossy it goes on and it looks great for daytime or nighttime. Plus, with 100% of the purchase price going to the MAC Aids fund, why would you not at least take a look at it?
*MAC Money Honey Dazzleglass-Okay, so I admit that I HATED Dazzleglasses the first time they were realeased. They were a goopy, sticky, gloppy mess. Lip glue if you will. Lip glue with sparkles. Then MAC released the Kitty Koture Collection with two limited edition Dazzleglasses. And well, with me being the dork that I am, I just had to have one because of that damn charm. Much to my surprise, when I applied Kitty Koture to my lips, it felt smooth, slick and glossy. Nothing like my Baby Sparks from the first release. I was in love. With a Dazzleglass! How could this be? Well, chock it up to MAC for listening to gals like me bitch and moan over the original consistency. They reformulated and even improved the brush. How’s that for customer service? Great I say.
*MAC Pearlglide Liners-Why oh why did these have to be limited edition. Everything about them was perfect. I have all of the colors from the first release with Suite Array and I must say, I less than three (<3) all of them. Fly by Blue looks really great with the bronzed skin I’ve been sporting lately. Makes me feel and Sun Siren like. They’re smooth, pigmented and once they set, they don’t budge. Pretty impressive for a pencil liner eh? Oh, and did I mention they have micro fine glitter? What’s not to love. A bit of warning though, these babies aren’t meant for your waterline or tightlining. Just FYI.
*Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay In Place Makeup SPF10-It’s been years since I touched a liquid foundation but I got this as a sample and wanted to see what all the hype was about. MAN! This is good stuff. It’s been fairly humid here and this didn’t make me feel slimy, greasy or melty. It lets my skin breath and offers great coverage with just a bit of foundation. I use my finers to apply this. (Shush you germaphobes!) The warmth from my clean fingers really helps this mesh with my skin and sink in better. It has a nice finish. Not too glowy and not too matte. Just right and like I said, a little dab will do ya so I believe that the price really is worth it.
*MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light-Yeah, yeah. I know that I said that I was rocking a bronzed look and I am. Really! But Light has always been über dark on me. But now that I have gone from a NW 15 to NC 20 this color works great for me. I just take a large fluffy powder brush and sweep over my foundation to set it. Looks great and keeps the oilies at bay. Plus it’s packed full of good for your skin minerals. Yay!
*Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray Thirsty Skin Relief-I have been a fan of this stuff for about 6 years now. I especially love to use it at night because my skin seems to drink it up better at night than during the day. But wait! It still really great for freshening up during those hotter than hell days of summer. I like to put mine in the fridge and use it when I feel blah. This has Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Caffeine to sooth, hydrate and de-puff your skin. Comparable with MAC’s Fix + but I tend to like this more. This doesn’t feel as sticky and I like the smell better.
Well, that’s it for the month of May. If I think of any more I will edit this. And just out of curiosity, what are you loving right now? Discoverd a miracle product? Something you can’t live without? An at home remedy passed down generation by generation? Let me know. Leave them in the comments section and I hope you get a chance to check out some of my faves.
